Policy Motion

Whereas:

  • The Brotherhoods of Lio ensured the quick industrialization of the city.
  • Carson's Cooperatives allowed for the largest public transit network on the server
  • Commonwealth Charity Party welcomed and settled newfriends in vast quantities
  • The preceding groups were all mission-driven organizations, with clear goals and objectives
  • Newfriends and citizens may often feel that there is nothing to do in a city, given they may have no idea which opportunities lie before them
  • An abundance of organizations, each with their own mission, can help ensure that there is always something productive to be done

Therefore be it resolved that:

  • It would be beneficial for our city and nation in 3.0 to foster the creation and proliferation of mission-driven organizations
  • We should establish a boilerplate incorporation document that can be easily copied, pasted, and edited
  • We establish an easily accessible public list of incorporated organizations
  • We regard active organizations as non-voting legal entities with the same property rights as private citizens
  • If these organizations homestead unclaimed land outside of the boundaries of other states, we regard these organizations' rightfully homesteaded land claims as part of our own
